Mountain View: 23-year-old arrested after man is shot and killed

MOUNTAIN VIEW — A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder Sunday after a Mountain View shooting left another man dead, according to authorities.Police received reports of gunshots just after 9 a.m. Sunday on the 2000 block of Reinert Road. Upon arrival, officers found a man lying down in the driveway of an apartment complex with at least one gunshot wound. The man, only identified as a 29-year-old Mountain View resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner did not publicly identify the victim Monday morning, pending notification of next of kin.Officers located and later arrested a second man at the apartment complex, identified as 23-year-old Juan Rodriguez, also of Mountain View. ALAMEDA — An unconscious man was rescued by firefighters early Monday after a vehicle he was driving crashed into Seaplane Lagoon, authorities said.The man was not breathing when firefighters got to him, authorities said. He was taken to a hospital but his condition was not immediately available.The vehicle the man was in crashed into the lagoon in the 1000 block of West Tower Avenue, not far from the USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum, about 3:20 a.m. Monday. (KRON) -- A dead body was found Monday morning near a parking garage in downtown Oakland, according to police. At around 8 a.m., officers arrived to the 1100 block of Clay Street and located an individual suffering from severe injuries. (KRON) -- A Mountain View man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday, the Mountain View Police Department announced Monday. Mountain View PD dispatchers received calls of gunshots heard on the 2000 block of Reinert Road just after 9 a.m. Sunday.Responding officers found a man lying in the driveway of an apartment complex.
