CLEVELAND, Texas (AP) — Wilson Garcia hadn’t even asked his neighbor to stop shooting his gun.People in their rural town north of Houston are used to people firing their weapons to blow off steam, but it was late Friday night, and Garcia had a month-old son who was crying. So, Garcia said, he and two other people went to his neighbor’s house to “respectfully” ask that he shoot farther away from their home.Mass shooting survivor Wilson Garcia sheds a tear as he talks about his wife and son, who were killed in Friday's shooting, Sunday, April 30, 2023, at a vigil for his son in Cleveland, Texas. The search for a Texas man who allegedly shot his neighbors after they asked him to stop firing off rounds in his yard stretched into a second day Sunday, with authorities saying the man could be anywhere by now. The suspect fled after the shooting Friday night that left multiple people dead. (AP Photo/David J. Denny Sanford child pornography investigation

Investigators found that images of nude underage girls were transmitted on an email account they linked to billionaire South Dakota philanthropist T. Denny Sanford, documents unsealed Thursday showed, but they were unable to prove who sent them or where that person was at the time.Sanford’s attorney said in a statement that the newly released documents contain only allegations and “various individuals had documented access to the electronic devices at issue, including signs of hacking.”Sanford, South Dakota’s richest man and a University of Minnesota alumnus, was not charged after the state attorney general’s office said its investigation into child pornography allegations found no prosecutable offenses within its jurisdiction.Sanford’s attorneys fought to keep the affidavits used to issue search warrants sealed, but the Sioux Falls Argus Leader and ProPublica argued they should be made public and the state Supreme Court ruled this month that they would be unsealed.Sanfo...Flooding closes multiple roads in Canajoharie

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma has to do with what's appropriate in your backyard. Here's the email: Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. I'm having a problem with my neighbor and I don't quite know how to handle it. My neighbor has a very nice pool in their backyard, which they recently opened. It's heated and yes, they've already been in it. So you're thinking what's the problem? Well, they like to skinny dip in their pool. And there is no real barrier that keeps my family from seeing them do that. I mean there is a fence, but it's a chain link fence, and if I'm on my deck, I can see everything if you know what I mean. And so can my children. There are no shrubs or trees between our property. I'm very close to going over and asking them to stop skinny dipping as my kids can see them. My neighbors on the other side of my home say it's none of my business what they do in their yard, but I thin...Ask Amy: New mom is frustrated by her old mom

Dear Amy: My mom and I have had a bumpy relationship ever since my parents got divorced about 10 years ago.Instead of finding healthy ways to cope, my mother blamed me (and my brother) for her unhappiness during a time when we were trying to get on our feet as adults. We slowly worked things out and talk by phone a couple of times a week.I am currently in my early 30s and in the last trimester with my third baby.Sadly, I lost my first baby at birth, but I do have a toddler at home now, and my mom is back to her old tricks. She indirectly blames me for her loneliness, even though my husband and I have offered to help her move closer to us (she refused). She’s started leaving me passive-aggressive voicemails about having to “schedule” time to talk with her daughter (which I do).I now have health concerns related to my pregnancy. The stress is terrible. I have suggested that she find a therapist, get some fresh air, make a new friend — but she seems to spend a lot of time napping, n...Sensational views of San Francisco and S.F. Bay

I heard from the Society of Finessers again — their letters seem to be coming more often — grumbling that finesses never win in my columns.“Sir: We again condemn your disdain for the finesse, an honorable technique that works fully half the time, except in your deals.”The Society won’t like today’s deal. West led a spade against 3NT: deuce, king, ace. South next let the nine of clubs ride, and East took the king and led the jack of spades to South’s queen.EIGHT TRICKSSouth next led a diamond to dummy’s ace and a diamond to his jack, and West produced the queen and exited with a heart. South had only eight tricks, and when he finessed in hearts, East won and cashed three spades.“Three finesses lose,” the Society rails. “For shame!”After South wins the second spade, he can cash only two clubs, then exit with a spade. After East takes three spades, he must lead a heart or a diamond, yielding a free finesse. So Sout...Word Game: May 1, 2023
