Braeden Carrington to step away from Gophers men’s basketball program

Gophers sophomore guard Braeden Carrington is taking an indefinite break from the U men’s basketball program to focus on his mental health.“There’s areas of my life I am looking to improve and must step away from the program and put myself first,” Carrington wrote on X on Tuesday. “I plan on returning to the team when the time is right. For now please respect my space and allow me to ultimately do what’s best for me. Thank you Gopher fans.”Gophers head coach Ben Johnson added in a statement: “We fully support Braeden as he takes this time to focus on his mental health. Myself, our administration and our team will do whatever we can to help him and I admire Braeden for his courage. A small business in Saratoga Springs temporarily closed after thieves stole what the owner says was hundreds of thousands of dollars in merchandise. BETHLEHEM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Elderly residents in Bethlehem are urged to be wary of a phone scam requesting cash. Police say the scammers will claim there is an emergency involving a family member or that bail money is needed to get a family member out of jail. ST. LOUIS -- Many Catholic schools were waiting on an announcement from the archdiocese about closures. Over the past 20 years, enrollment has dropped from 40,000 to less than 20,000. The Archdiocese notified about 26 schools that they might be closing. It appears that they will remain open.The Office of Catholic Education and Formation, along with Episcopal Vicars, met with archdiocesan pastors to evaluate elementary school sustainability. Pastors recommend keeping schools open for 2024-25, with standalone schools submitting long-term plans by Feb 1, 2024. On Saturday, the sun was shining over Missouri Baptist University Spartan Field for the American Cancer Society All-Star Game.Over 35 Missouri high schools were represented all coming together to raise money for the American Cancer Society and their efforts to support cancer patients and research.
