SAVANNAH, N.Y. (AP) — A man on a hunting trip was shot and killed in western New York on Saturday, the first day of the state’s regular deer and bear hunting seasons, authorities said.The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said it responded at about 7 a.m. to a report that a hunter had been shot in Savannah, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) east of Rochester. LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) – The Leander Police Department said a woman died after she was struck by a CapMetro train. The crash happened Saturday near Highway 183 between Sonny Drive and FM 2243. Around noon, police received a report of a train-pedestrian collision.Police said officers found an unknown female dead at the scene, and they believe she was crossing the railroad bridge when the train hit her. LPD said the only people on board the train were the engineer and conductor. Leander police said investigators are trying to identify the woman to notify next of kin. WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A man who was rushed to the hospital after being impaled by a 50-foot pipe at an oil field on Thursday is out of surgery, according to family members.According to Wichita County Sheriff David Duke, just after 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, multiple agencies responded to reports of an injury accident at an oil field off of Highway 25, between Electra and Kamay in Wichita County. Sheriff Duke said once first responders arrived on the scene, they discovered a Hispanic male, later identified as Felipe Carrillo, who had been impaled with a pipe.
