Mahomes joined "ManningCast" with Peyton and Eli Manning during the Buffalo Bills matchup with the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. During the broadcast, the two-time MVP shared his pregame superstition: He wears the same pair of red underwear every game. "First, my wife Brittany got them for me, so I'm not throwing y'all down, but I have to wear them," Mahomes said. "I threw them on that first season. We had a pretty good season that season. I only wear them for gameday, though, so they're not too worn down." Andy Reid speaks on role of Kadarius Toney; wants to be cautious Mahomes said he washes them every once in a while, but not if the Chiefs are on a hot streak. "If we're on a hot streak, I can't wash them," Mahomes said.He doesn't appear to be halting the superstition anytime soon thanks to the Chiefs' constant success. (The Hill) -- The union representing thousands of Starbucks workers has said it will launch its “largest strike ever” on Thursday amid the coffee chain’s annual Red Cup Day.Starbucks Workers United said in a press release on Monday that it is demanding the company bargain over staffing and scheduling issues and turn off mobile ordering on promotion days like Red Cup Day.The yearly event, during which Starbucks gives away free reusable holiday cups, is the company’s “biggest sales event of the season” and “one of the most infamously hard, understaffed days for the baristas that work them,” according to the union.Promotion days like Red Cup Day produce a “flood of customers” but are not paired with any additional staffing, Starbucks Workers United said.“Starbucks is creating unnecessarily stressful working conditions by scheduling promotion after promotion without increasing staffing,” Neha Cremin, a barista in Oklahoma City, said in a statement. “Understaffing hurts wo...Dean's Streaming Picks: 'The Crown,' 'Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters,' Tyler Perry and more

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- For the fifth day Wednesday, a Travis County jury continued to deliberate in the trial of Austin Police Officer Christopher Taylor. He is being tried for murder in the 2020 shooting death of Michael Ramos. Tuesday afternoon, Judge Dayna Blazey said the jury was confused about whether they had to be unanimous about specific elements of the charge Taylor is facing to move forward to the next. While the jury has to come to an ultimate decision unanimously, they do not need to agree on every element of the charge before discussing others. The jurors also asked the court to refresh their memories on some testimony presented in the trial, but Blazey didn't indicate which testimony the jury had asked for. That testimony was not provided to the jurors until late in the work day Tuesday. Monday, Blazey issued what is referred to as an "Allen charge," asking the jurors who were holding out to consider the majority's side. Blazey said jurors announced earlier in the day t...Gophers football can still finish 5-7 and go to bowl game this season

Odd history might repeat itself for the Gophers football team this fall. For the second time in nine seasons, Minnesota might go to a bowl game without reaching the standard six wins. The Gophers (5-5 overall) need one more win to reach bowl eligibility but are four-touchdown underdogs for Saturday’s Big Ten game at No. 2 Ohio State. The U will then host Wisconsin (5-5) in a projected toss-up game for Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe at Huntington Bank Stadium on Nov. 25.Even if Minnesota loses both games, there might not be enough eligible teams to fill the 82 bowl spots this postseason, meaning the U might still get in at 5-7. That’s the fallout of 62 percent of the Division I programs making bowl games. In 2015, Minnesota finished 5-7 and appeared in the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit because there was a dearth of 6-win teams that season. The U got in that year based on its high Academic Progress Rate (APR).The U’s current APR is tied for eighth in the nation among FBS programs,...Wild, including Kirill Kaprizov, return to the ice in Sweden

STOCKHOLM — The Wild returned to the ice on Wednesday morning in Stockholm, looking to shake off some jet lag and focus on their penalty kill in the wake of their last game Sunday back in Minnesota during which they gave up five power-play goals to the Dallas Stars. While a trip across the Atlantic Ocean to participate in the NHL’s Global Series promises to be a time of cultural learning and team bonding, there are four important points at stake.“Who said that we’re here to have fun?” forward Kirill Kaprizov asked. The 26-year-old returned to the ice with his teammates after missing practice on Monday for what coach Dean Evason called a “maintenance day.” The coach said Kaprizov had been “a little banged up.”But on Wednesday, the forward said he felt good, proclaiming himself ready to go ahead of two weekend games in Sweden.Though Kaprizov is currently second on the team with 15 points through the team’s first 15 games, his plus-minus of minus-11 is the worst on the team, and he knows...Kevin James bringing comedy show to Palace Theatre
