PALO ALTO — A 26-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon in Palo Alto on suspicion of spitting in the face of one bus driver and wrapping his arms around another before running from officers and trying to carjack a woman, police said.Officers were called to Quarry and Arboretum roads just before 5 p.m. for a report of a disturbance on a SamTrans bus, the Palo Alto Police Department said in a statement. They arrived to see a man running into a retirement community at 620 Sand Hill Road.An officer detained the man, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs and handed over a pipe, while others interviewed the drivers at the first scene, police said.One of the drivers, a woman in her 30s, told officers the man had forced open the doors of her out-of-service bus. She ordered him to leave multiple times before he did. PITTSBURG, Calif. (KRON) – An East Bay teen is being remembered Friday night after she was killed in a crash earlier this week. Pittsburg police say the girl was struck by a car while walking near Black Diamond High School Tuesday night. She later died at the hospital.The girl’s name was Brooke Jeffrey and she was just 17 years old. She was a beloved dancer at Melody’s Dance Studio in Antioch. The accident left her fellow students and family heartbroken.“All of the girls here were best friends with her because she was such a sweet girl,” said family friend Kayla Lane. SAN DIEGO -- Rain and winds are expected to make a gusty return to San Diego County Friday into Saturday, the National Weather Service said. Light precipitation is forecast to spread eastward and southward across the region Friday morning with the most significant rainfall expected to occur into the night. Weather officials say that will continue into Saturday with a wet morning anticipated.
