Orange County man arrested on charges of vehicular manslaughter A man from Placentia has been arrested and faces charges of vehicular manslaughter more than a year after allegedly crashing into a disabled vehicle and killing the car’s driver, authorities announced Thursday. The crash occurred on Nov. 2, 2021, just after 7:30 p.m., in the area of Carbon Canyon Road and Ruby Street in Brea. Governor Newsom announces $1 billion in homelessness funding, largest mobilization of small houses in state history Governor Gavin Newsom announced the release of $1 billion in Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention funding to support communities fighting homelessness statewide. Governor Newsom originally paused the funding last year and demanded that local governments revise their ambitions to propose a 2 percent reduction in homelessness.
