SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — A judge has agreed to seal from public view the terms of a proposed settlement agreement that benefits the son of slain cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, in a wrongful death lawsuit against actor Alec Baldwin and an array of producers and crew involved linked to Hutchins’ death in a fatal filmset shooting. The New Mexico judge cited privacy concerns about Halyna’s 10-year-old son, Andros Hutchins.Baldwin, an actor and film coproducer, was pointing a pistol at cinematographer Halyna Hutchins when the gun went off, killing her and wounding the director, Joel Souza, on the set of the Western movie “Rust” during a movie rehearsal on the outskirts of Santa Fe in 2021.Widower Matthew Hutchins filed the wrongful death suit last year against “Rust” producers, including Baldwin, as well as members of the film crew with safety responsibilities and an ammunition supplier. Son Andros Hutchins, who was 9 at the time of the shooting, is also named as a plaintiff.At...El sospechoso de filtrar documentos del Pentágono quería evitar que a usuarios de una sala de chat los “impactaran las noticias”, dice miembro del grupo

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Unionized film and television writers have voted overwhelmingly to give their leaders the authority to call a strike if a new contract agreement is not reached with producers. In an email to members Monday, the negotiating committee of the Writers Guild of America said nearly 98% of the 9,218 votes were cast to authorize the strike, with nearly 79% of guild members voting. “Our membership has spoken,” the email said. “You have expressed your collective strength, solidarity, and the demand for meaningful change in overwhelming numbers.”The writers’ three-year contract expires May 1, and leaders could call for a walkout the following day, but could extend the deadline if the two sides are close to a deal. Issues in negotiations include pay, writers’ ability to work for different shows during downtime from other projects, and, according to Variety, the use of artificial intelligence in the script process. MADISON, Wis. — The defrocked Roman Catholic cardinal who became the face of the church’s clergy sex abuse crisis has been charged in Wisconsin with sexually assaulting an 18-year-old man more than 45 years ago, court records show.A criminal complaint filed Friday alleges that Theodore McCarrick, who was removed from the priesthood in 2019 after a Vatican investigation found he had sexually molested adults and children, fondled a man in 1977 while staying at a cabin on Geneva Lake in southeastern Wisconsin. The alleged victim, who is not named, told investigators that McCarrick had repeatedly sexually assaulted him since he was 11 and even brought him to parties where other adult men sexually assaulted him, according to the complaint.McCarrick became the highest-ranking Roman Catholic official in the U.S. to face criminal charges for sexual abuse when he was accused in 2021 of sexually assaulting a teenage boy in Massachusetts at a wedding reception in 1974. By MARGARET STAFFORD and JIM SALTER (Associated Press)KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — An 85-year-old white man who shot a Black teen that approached the wrong house in Kansas City, Missouri, while trying to pick up his younger brothers has been charged with first-degree assault, the Clay County prosecutor said Monday.Prosecuting Attorney Zachary Thompson said at a news conference that there was a “racial component” to the incident Thursday night in which Andrew Lester twice shot 16-year-old Ralph Yarl, who is recovering at home after being released from the hospital on Sunday. But nothing in the charging documents says the shooting was racially motivated, Thompson clarified.“We understand how frustrating this has been but I can assure you the criminal justice system is working and will continue to work,” Thompson said at a news conference. The shooting outraged many in Kansas City and across the country. PHILADELPHIA — The Nets need to find a way to play Dorian Finney-Smith more playoff minutes, and fast — even if it requires solving a math problem.Finney-Smith is one of the team’s most physical players, and his extended court presence is needed for a Nets team struggling with the 76ers’ physicality in their first-round playoff matchup against the Sixers. The issue? The Nets also need size to match up against superstar big man Joel Embiid. The biggest player on Brooklyn’s roster is reserve big man Day’Ron Sharpe.Vaughn says Finney-Smith and Sharpe are splitting the same minutes, a development since Finney-Smith plays both the four and small-ball five while Sharpe plays backup five exclusively.“You’ve got the full question of, ‘Do you play Day’Ron?’” head coach Jacque Vaughn said ahead of tipoff in Game 2 against the Sixers on Monday. “Day’Ron is supposedly one of our bigger dudes also.”Finney-Sm...MBTA Green Line has delays on busy Marathon Monday, stranding exhausted runners who are faster than the T

What’s more Boston than T delays on Marathon Monday? As marathoners from around the world finished in Copley Square Monday afternoon, the MBTA terminated Green Line service at Arlington, leading to delays on one of the city’s busiest days of the year.Exhausted and drenched runners who just finished the grueling 26.2 miles were stranded on trains and platforms. Some marathon spectators along the route had held signs that read, “You’re faster than the T,” which was especially true on Monday.“Probably should have just kept running back to Somerville. #mbta,” a marathon finisher tweeted as he waited for a Green Line train with throngs of people at Prudential station.Related ArticlesLocal News | MBTA to shut down parts of Red and Blue Lines to address slow zones Local News | Green Line speed restrictions adjusted The MBTA said a “mechanical failure” was to blame. At about 2:50 p.m., an eastbound Green Lin...‘It’s a beautiful thing’ Thousands unite, run and cheer during a rainy, cool marathon

Even on a cool, rainy Marathon Monday, a beautiful scene played out in Copley Square as 30,239 runners from all over the country and world finished their 26.2-mile run from Hopkinton.Hugs, smiles, fist pumps and loud cheers rang out as weary runners who had endured the course crossed the finish line, joyous, haggard, and grateful, one after another. But for Henry Richard, who’s younger brother Martin was killed and sister Jane lost a leg in the terrorist bombing of the marathon ten years ago, Monday’s race brought a special joy.“It’s a beautiful thing seeing familiar faces, new faces come out, run under Martin, just unify as one,” Richard said. “No matter what we do in the future, we are going to keep doing that.”On Monday, Richard crossed the finish line with a group of friends who ran with him as members of Team MR8, raising funds for the Martin Richard Foundation, which his parents Denise and Bill created within a year of the tragedy to help turn pain into healing.Former Bruins ca...Veteran Susannah Scaroni victorious in women’s wheelchair race

I have noticed in the past the women’s field is very competitive but I don’t always feel like the speed is as fast as maybe it can be.“It is more position wise.
