Woman inside car killed in St. Louis after tree falls during storms

ST. LOUIS - A woman sitting inside her car as severe storms rolled through St. Louis on Saturday was killed when a tree fell on her car, according to police. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department tells FOX 2 the woman was the only person inside the car during the incident. She died after a tree fell on her car while inside. COLLINSVILLE, Ill. - Crews are working to clean up Collinsville and many other St. Louis-area communities after Saturday's severe storms. Storms packed lightning, heavy rain, hail and gusts as high as 70 mph Saturday in Missouri and Illinois. At least one tornado warning was issued in Washington County, Illinois. Boulder County may be wetter than normal this Fourth of July, but law enforcement agencies all across the county agree that choosing to use illegal fireworks is still dangerous.Many cities such as Erie are actually seeing less complaint calls regarding illegal fireworks. Two Long Beach men were arrested after a stockpile of narcotics worth over $1.5 million dollars was discovered.The suspects were identified as Hector Valle, 48, and Efren Sanchez, 52, by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.The suspects were tracked down during an investigation into drugs being imported and distributed across Ventura County, including fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine.On June 16, Valle and Sanchez were taken into custody. (KRON) -- Authorities are investigating a homicide that happened Friday night, the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) announced in a press release. VPD officers responded to a call at around 10:41 p.m. of a woman not breathing on the 6100 block of Wild Dunn Ct.When medical personnel arrived at the scene, the woman was pronounced dead. The circumstances behind her death are unknown and are being investigated, per VPD.This is Vallejo's eleventh homicide of 2023, the city's police department said.
