As time progresses rain coverage from both areas of development will mean scattered to widespread storms across much of the area. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for all of central Texas until 10pm. Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for the development of storms. If a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is issued then severe weather is happening or imminent and you need to act.Severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m.Initially storms that are on their own will carry a high risk for large hail, but as individual storms develop into a line the hail threat will transition to a straight line wind risk.Scattered strong to severe storms possible this even...Texas Sen. The University of Minnesota Board of Regents aims to appoint an interim president in the next two weeks and will consider both internal and external candidates, but not if they’re interested in the permanent job.Regents during a special meeting Thursday favored a relatively quick and controlled process handled by the board itself over a wide search heavy on public engagement.A May 5 hiring target would give the interim leader about five weeks to work alongside President Joan Gabel, who plans to start taking vacation time on June 9 before starting her new job as University of Pittsburgh chancellor.Regents spent five hours Tuesday discussing what they want from an interim president and what they’re willing to pay for it.They reached consensus around excluding candidates who might later seek a permanent appointment as president.“Being a candidate is distracting and influences some of the decision-making,” said Mary Davenport.“I don’t want someone who’s using the interim period as their...Rhinebeck man accused of rape
