AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin doctor is saving lives across Africa.Dr. Karen Keough recently returned from a medical mission trip to Kenya where she delivered lifesaving neurological care to children in need. This marked the pediatric neurologist’s sixth mission trip."It's an incredible opportunity to provide care in an area that is sorely lacking with medical care at all,” she said.Over the years, the medical director of Pediatrix Specialty Care of Austin has helped hundreds of kids in Central Texas and overseas. The unprecedented early fall heat wave that led to the cancellation of the Twin Cities Marathon set another record Monday.The daily high temperature of 89 degrees tied the same record mark for Oct. 2 set in 1953.The normal high temperature for the date is 66.Twin Cities records were surpassed on Saturday, when the high was 88, and on Sunday, when the high was a blistering 92.The Oct. 1 reading of 92 smashed the 1897 record of 87 and set a new record for the highest October temperature in the Twin Cities — and the hottest temperature ever recorded so late in the year in Minneapolis-St. Paul. BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The man accused of kidnapping Charlotte Sena was arraigned in Milton Town Court on kidnapping charges. According to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, Sena was found in a cabinet inside a trailer on Monday evening. The investigation ramped up after a ransom note was discovered at the Sena family home around 4:20 a.m. A fingerprint on the ransom note matched prints from a DWI in 1999. Police located a house to search in Milton, including a trailer found on the same property. Sena was located covered up in a cabinet inside the trailer.Ross initially resisted arrest and is still being questioned on whether Sena was targeted and if he is known to the family. HUDSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Walden man was arrested after forcibly entering an apartment and breaking property inside at a Hudson Terrace Apartment, per Hudson Police. Matthew McNamara, 31, is also accused of attacking a female victim, who was defended by her 14-year-old son with a baseball bat. A demonstration at the University of Southern California turned to chaos Friday when violence erupted between Armenia protesters and Turkish diplomats. The violence broke out following a conference on Turkish foreign policy at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Armenian students and community members were protesting the timing of the conference when things grew heated. Video captured a handful of protestors chasing after the diplomats, including the Turkish Ambassador, yelling and throwing bottles at them. A motorhome in Sun Valley erupted in flames Monday night, leaving one person dead and another in need of medical attention.The fire was reported around 9 p.m. in the 11800 block of West Strathern Street. Emergency crews responded to a fatal RV fire in Sun Valley on Oct. 2, 2023.
