THE WOODLANDS, Texas (AP) — Lilia Vu birdied the first playoff hole to win her first major at the Chevron Championship after fellow American Angel Yin hit her approach shot into the water on Sunday.Yin’s second shot came up short and left and splashed into the pond guarding the par-5 18th hole, and Vu hit her approach just over the green. Vu went with putter from off the green and came up well short, but she converted from about 10 feet for the victory. The 25-year-old Californian won for the second time on the LPGA Tour and took a celebratory leap into the pond, a tradition borrowed from this tournament’s former venue at Mission Hills in the California desert.Vu birdied her last two holes for a 4-under 68 and a four-day total of 10-under 278 at Carlton Woods, then waited as other contenders — including Yin — faltered. But Yin, after bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes, birdied the 18th to force the playoff.Unable to find a sponsor willing to add to the half-century run at Mission Hills...Ataque armado en carretera de México deja al menos cuatro muertos y dos heridos

Dear President Metsola,Dear President Michel,Dear President von der Leyen,For several months we have followed, with increasing concern, the progress of the proposal on a packaging and packaging waste regulation (PPWR). We are businesses from a wide cross-section of the European economy – generating billions of euros for the EU economy and millions of jobs. While we fully support the overall goals of the Green Deal, we are worried about the unintended consequences of the proposed PPWR legislation for the environment, the economy, food safety and consumers. It is because of these concerns that we have decided to join forces to create a new cross-sector alliance: Together for Sustainable Packaging. While the Commission has conducted an initial impact study, we feel it currently lacks depth and in particular does not consider economic and food safety aspects. However, there are now several high-level independent studies, conducted by highly recognised experts such as Kearney, and Ra...South Korea restores Japan on trade ‘white list’

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korea formally restored Japan to its list of countries it gives preferential treatment in trade on Monday, three years after the neighbors downgraded each other’s trade status amid a diplomatic row fueled by historical grievances. In announcing the move through a government gazette, South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy also said Seoul will further restrict technology and industrial exports to Russia and its ally Belarus to support the U.S.-led pressure campaign against Moscow over the war in Ukraine. After years of friction, Seoul and Tokyo are working to repair relations as they tighten their three-way security cooperation with Washington to counter the threat posed by North Korea. Pyongyang has used the distractions caused by the war to accelerate testing of nuclear-capable missiles. South Korean officials expect Tokyo to restore Seoul as a favored trade partner too, but expect that step to take more time based on the procedures to re...Australia plans major overhaul of defenses as China rises
